My Story

Following curiosity, collecting stories, and seeing where they take me ✨

SHRISTI 2025

Volunteered at SHRISTI 2025 — helping with event coordination and supporting participants throughout the day

Srishti Innovation Exchange 2025, allowed me to witness ideas, creativity, and collaboration come together in one space. Through volunteering, I learned how much effort goes into creating meaningful experiences and how small contributions can make a big difference to participants.

Hosted at the Acharya Institute, this major tech and innovation meet brought together student innovators to build and pitch prototypes

Touchgrass

Founded Touchgrass- a Social events community that helps people connect offline

DIY Matcha— The very first TouchGrass event was a matcha-making workshop hosted at one of my favourite spots in the city. When I was thinking about what the first event should be, the answer felt obvious. If the community was called TouchGrass, what better way to start than by literally making grass? What began as a slightly silly idea turned into something much more meaningful.

Ten people showed up—most of them complete strangers to one another. They came from different parts of the city, different backgrounds, and different stages of life, but they all shared the same willingness to step out of their comfort zones and meet someone new.

Our goal as a community is to bring people together in real life through fun and engaging events.

Teaching

NSS activities, which taught me as much about communication, leadership, and empathy as it did about teaching.

Visited a government school as part of the Campus to Community initiative and taught a simple science experiment to 9th-grade students. It was rewarding to see their curiosity and excitement as they learned something new through a hands-on activit

Hobbymaxxer

A proud hobbymaxxer — diving headfirst into new interests. You'll usually find me writing, dancing, or deep in a new rabbit hole.

Dance

Dance performance Bharatanatyam Event

Before I learned to build communities, I learned to perform.

I trained in Bharatanatyam for eight years, performing at various cultural events and stage productions throughout my childhood. In 2024, I participated in the Largest Bharatanatyam Dance Lesson organized by Thyagayya Charitable Trust, contributing to an event that earned seven records, including a Guinness World Record. Dance taught me the power of storytelling long before I discovered them elsewhere.

Theatre & Stage Management

Theatre Stage Management Theatre Stage Management Theatre Stage Management Theatre Stage Management

For a semester, I explored theatre as an extracurricular activity, stepping into a role that was as much about leadership as it was about creativity.

As the Stage Manager, I coordinated across multiple departments, overseeing lighting, sound, acting, dance, and budgeting to ensure productions ran smoothly from rehearsal to performance. The experience taught me how to manage moving parts, work under pressure, solve problems in real time, and bring together diverse teams toward a shared vision.

It was my first glimpse into what happens behind the scenes—where creativity meets organization, and where successful experiences are built through collaboration.

More about me

Hi, I'm Vaishnavi G T, a B.Tech student in Computer Science - AI exploring the intersection between tech, creativity, and human connection. I'm generally a very curious person who wants to do a lot of things and experience as much as possible. I love branching out, meeting new people, and learning from different perspectives, which is what inspired me to start Touchgrass Social Club. I'm very entrepreneurial and love learning about businesses, brands, and how they work. I also enjoy attending workshops and events simply because I'm curious. So far, I've attended things like pizza-making and kintsugi workshops, and when it comes to fitness, I've tried everything from Pilates and yoga to gym training and marathons. I love writing, storytelling, and sharing ideas. I'm interested in content creation and enjoy documenting experiences, exploring new perspectives, and finding stories in everyday moments. I'm also a trained classical dancer and hold a Guinness World Record for being part of the largest Bharatanatyam dance lesson. My only weakness is I have a hysterical laugh.
